Why is Mortebeau such a disgusting person/catman?
That's what this comic is all about. When I first created Mortebeau, my friend and I decided he looked creepy. As a joke, we called him "Kittyman" and "Cookie" until I came up with a better name for him. Then I figured he looked like someone who killed people, and later made him into someone who "killed as a hobby, but wants to have friends too." Well... it didn't make much sense, so I came up with a story to help explain it (as well as have a bit of fun and give him an adventure or two).

Where did the name "Mortebeau" come from? What does it mean?
When I was trying to decide on a good name for Kittyman, I drew a quick picture of him and showed it to people, asking what they thought he should be called. My brother suggested "Mortebeau", which means "handsome death." Needless to say, the name stuck.

Is it French?
Yes.

Is Mortebeau himself French?
Yes.

How come his hair always covers up one of his eyes?
Because that is how I designed him. It probably won't be like that all the time. : )

Why is he anthropomorphic?
Because, once again, that is how I designed him. I draw better anthro characters than human, so I think it's best he stayed this way.
